Using MSVC6, set to "Blend" optimization, not to a specific target
processor.

Yes, MS Visual C++ 6.0 SP5 is what is used to build the RC9 binaries.
You might use some other compiler too. Check the builds directories of
the source distribution.

But you did not asked the real question : "Will I get something good,
speed increase or so, from doing so ?"

My personal answer is : probably NO.
Or probably nothing you could measure by human means.
