I use Windows in my development shop and most of my customers use Windows
Servers. One customer wanted to use Linux Server. I jumped into hot water by saying
"go ahead" and am now drowning.
Any help on What I should try to investigate welcome!
Randomly one of my applications is going down giving a 10054 error. ( The number
I hate the most nowadays :) I detest 10054 ) The application which is crashing
is a server application which has upto six to eight threads making connections and
then closing and exiting. On the same machine at the same time my client
application is running, this has only has two threads which are held open all
the time. This application will run fine at the same time and not give a
problem. If I have a ping -t running it will never lose connection with the
server.
At this time if I try to open a new client from another machine it is working
fine.
Not able to detect any pattern. Not during times where there is lot of load on
the server or network. If it starts giving a problem it will give this problem 4
to 5 times for around 3 hours and then works fine for around 5 to 6 days.
I have checked for memory leakages in my app. No leaks. Checked if number of
threads is constantly increasing at the server application or on the machine
running firebird (No!).
Ran MadExcept to try to get a trace when the problem comes up.
Typically This is what I get.

I realise that this may not be related to Linux at all.
The trouble is if I had the same problem on a windows site. I could tell him "Listen I have 30 other sites running fine" Please check your network.
He is asking me show me another site where it is running successfully on Linux and he is the first and only
