I was also looking at Zeos 6.1.x recently, and although it seems to be
stable enough for general use, i've bumped into a major problem that
made it unusable for me.

Specifically, the Zeos 6.x component set supports only ONE transaction
per connection, just like the BDE model. Since it's generally not a good
idea to open/hold a Read/Write transaction for a long time in Firebird,
using Zeos is a bit risky, especially when your database/users scale.

I've been told that the old 5.x versions do support multiple
transaction, but i have no experience with those. A developer replied to
my inquiry in their forums, stating that they (might) have plans to
implement the multiple transaction support in 6.x later, but no time
frame is given.
