Yeah, I know. But I think there is just not enough "push back" on the
question. Because the web as a concept is so simple, many managers become
enamored of the web and think that is where everything should be done. This
really does not make sense and when the advantages of alternatives are
fully explained, as well as the relative cost savings, I've found they
often back down.

The not-so-hidden dirty little secret of the web is that the main advantage
given for web apps - that they are browser independent - is a total sham.
So most managers think they have saved a bundle creating a web app. The
reality is that they have not saved anything unless they have also given up
the main advantage they originally sought.
