Is it just as slow with *.fdb as with *.gdb?
My guess is that you need to configure Windows XP (or just "upgrade" to
Win2000Pro). I don't think that BLOBs is a problem, and the size of the db
(1GB or more) is not important.
What about XP's "system restore"? - turn it off and see if that
helps. Googing for "system restore" should provide instructions for
turning it OFF (or ON).
There has been many discussons on "slow connect" so you may find some info
in the list archives, or maybe someone with XP experience will offer some help.
