ODBC connection is also supported so it able to connect to any databases. But
for me, DBDesigner is more as database modelling tool rather than database
administration tool. Even if DBDesigner support other databases, I don't think
I'm gonna use it as administration tool. IMO, it's too risky to administering
database in a model based tool, it might messing up your data. Maybe it's
alright for mySQL, but I don't think it's a good practice to use with a true
RDBMS like Firebird or PostgreSQL. The most I like from DBDesigner is it can
generate DDL/DML from the model, which then I can use to modify the real
database structure.

too busy so he can't put any responses. Many users said that they're ready to
help him so DBDesigner can be developed by the community, but the developer said
nothing. I read that the developer is preparing a new version of DBDesigner, he
said he's gonna fully rewrite from the scracth since DBDesigner has tons of bug
in the Linux version (because Kylix?).
Maybe we can suggest Firebird Developer team to continue the development and -if
possible- integrate it with FlameRobin? :D
