I seriously doubt FB support will show up in their new version. From what I
understand MySQL acquired FabForce. It is a nice looking tool though. It is
open source (Delphi/Kylix) so maybe some of the Delphi developers here could
band together and add the support...nudge...nudge...wink...wink...

I downloaded this program and I'm VERY impressed. DBDesigner4 is awesome!
The only problem is that there is no native Firebird support in there. Yes,
you can connect to Firebird, but there is no support of the data types,
domains, triggers, stored procedures, etc. which means that as a 'generic'
data modeling tool this would be ok, but you'll end up doing all of your
physical modeling in a tool that better understands the datatypes and
features of Firebird (ie. www.casestudio.com or www.ibexpert.com etc.)
I went into their forums and posted a message about trying to get them to
support Firebird. There was one in there already so I also added my comment
to that one. But there is one message in their forums for PostgreSQL which
goes on for 3 pages of "Yes, please support PostgreSQL..." from everyone
interested. I think that if we did the same thing on their forums for
Firebird, it would help get another program out there that would natively
support Firebird which would be to all of our advantage.
Anyway if you are interested, please register on their forums at
http://www.fabforce.net/dbdesigner4/
and request Firebird support. There certainly is strength in numbers.
