Hi Helen,
-I upgraded IBExpert to the latest version.
- I reinstalled Firebird-1.5.1.4481-Win32.exe
- I checked the Version property of the fbclient.dll and gds32.dll ,
both show 1.5.1.4481 as product Version in Version Tab.
- I did the reality check and I couldn't rename fbclient.dll as
expected.
- I restored the Backup again to a new DB, using IBE : same problem,
FB-Server restart after a successfull restore :-(
- I used gbak at client side to perform the same restore (dos box) :
no problem at all :-)
So my question now is : Does gbak also use the local client library
(fbclient.dll) or not ? Depending on the answer to this I can either
pinpoint the problem to strictly IBE, or still have to suspect
fbclient.dll, which means my own apps still might be in trouble :-(
Thanks for your patience and time :-)
best regards,
Dirk Naudts.
