I'm sorry - I really don't understand the distinction you're making
between virtual memory and memory. Firebird uses the simplest imaginable
memory allocation - buried under a bunch of stuff that manages the
memory that's been allocated. If you've got a gig and a half of real
memory, Firebird's going to use that.
