Ann,

I just followed the link to the zip file that was given in this
thread. The site prompted me for my login. I already have a Dr Dobbs
login from some months ago (I didn't pay anything for it), so I logged
in and downloaded the article.

So it looks to me like one doesn't need to be a paid subscriber.

In fact, I just followed the link given in the start of this thread
and was taken directly to the article. I'm using Mozilla Firebird
(but have made no changes to the user agent).
