OK we have solved the problem
The only way to get Win98 to access Firebird UDF's
is to change:
firebird.conf

add this line:
#
UdfAccess = Full

without this line Win98 cannot access UDF's.
I think it may actually be an error in IBObjects, which
is what IBConsole is built on, as well as InterXPress is also
built on.
