Subject Re: [firebird-support] Re: Bad query optimisation on the MAC?

Well I have on old I Mac 300Mhz 256 MB ram and I Powerpook
around 800Mhz with 512MB just a single HD drive.
The old IMac did faster rebuild a 1,8 GB firebird database file
then the HPUX company server with Raid drives! Or a 550 Mhz test Windows
XP with 512MB cd not beat the Imac while doing SQLqueries or rebuild of a midsized 1,8 gb database file (named mydatabase.fdb- no systemrestore!/winXp)...
I was testing quite a lot a 1 year ago John Bellardo did also help by fixing smaller things in FB1.0/OSX for problems with connecting (gds_assertion issues).
Well after 1 year having over 20 Powerbooks worldwide "on the road" with an unattended database - it prooved being solid and stable.
The only things that JDBC connection from webobjects take a few seconds,
my embedded SQL C programmes connect and processes database really quick. Exception : remote - BLOB-data transmission -this is SLOW on
all plattforms.
