You can access the database through GBAK as long as the embedding app
is not using it. IOW you can still use GBAK to do a cold backup, but
not a hot backup.
For this to work I believe that fbembed.dll must be renamed
fbclient.dll, since there's no apparent way to tell GBAK to use a
different client library (BTW perhaps this is a good idea for an
additional command line switch).
