is this a new 2003 install or an upgrade of NT or 2000? If you upgrade, you
do not get shares setup with disk shadowing. If you install new, shares are
setup with disk shadowing. Either way, make sure disk shadowing is disabled
and remove all shares if you can anyway.
[Right click on the disk in explorer, Properties, Shadow Copies tab, select
each disk and click disable for each.]
There are mixed reports about this being the cause of some problems but try
it anyway.
