Subject RE: [firebird-support] Database compress/purge

You've gotten all the answers on how, now, let me ask why you want it
compressed.
What difference does it make if it stays 4 MB (which is a really small
database for us) ??
It's less work to simply re-use the now used pages, when adding data, than
it is for the engine to go out and get more disk space from the OS, like it
has too when it's "compressed"..

Subject: [firebird-support] Database compress/purge

Hi!

I deleted all rows fromall my tables, but the database is still 4MB big.
(It started out at only 200k)
What command or tool do I need to use to "compress" the table, clearing all
empty pages?

thanx
Louis
