The availability of Firebird ports is based solely on the community
demand and (most importantly) the willingness of someone to "take up the
charge" and volunteer to maintain the port(s). This applies to all
ports -- with the v1.5 efforts, there has been a lack of SuperServer
releases because no-one has had the time to build them.

Given the state of the 1.x codebase, that wouldn't surprise me. The
v1.5 code has been significantly cleaned up and the build process
'streamlined'. You might want to try building that release.
