Mark,
There have been some 250,000 downloads of the v1.0.0 install packages
from the project SF site.
From there the numbers get very subjective:
If this were an end-user product you could argue that the number of
"pass-along" installs might be a 1:1 factor -- ie. 1 extra install for
every 1 download. In the case of a server product, we could use the
factor by which Linux deployments are estimated of 8:1.
Additionally, there are a number of sites which mirror the SF files, I
know of a site which provides French install packages. By the way,
IBPhoenix does not mirror the SF site downloads -- it points users to
the SF site, so they are included in the SF numbers.
Personally, I would argue that FB is installed on about 1 to 1.5 million
PCs.
