And don't discount that fact that a 10054 error is often associated with a
faulty NIC. Maybe change the NIC on the server for one you know is OK and do
further testing.

I assume that no change to teh ubderlying network infrastructure has taken
place along with all these other changes? e.g. if the company has introduced
a new packet switching network as part of their WAN, this can cause 10054
errors.
