I agree with you!

By that argument, it should be firebird-support since, if people go to the
firebird site to find out about the mail lists, they can very clearly see
from the description that the support list is for BOTH Firebird and IB.

IB users are more likely to go looking on the IB Phoenix site - and the
list description there also clearly says the support list is for both.
