Yes, they are the same with Firebird. You can do this with the command
line tool "gfix" -

"gfix -shut -attach/-force/-tran n"

where there's a difference between -attach, -force and -tran and "n" is
the time in seconds.

Mind you - if you're running your reports in transaction isolation
"snapshot",
people don't have to disconnect, as the reports will have a frozen view of
