Just a small note here:

I remember reading somewhere that this is ok when running the client
application at the same machine than the server, but it gives wrong results
on the clients.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with the components, or a problem with the
API, or if it is an old problem already solved. This is just an advice for
you to test it also in a workstation. :-)
