No. As a matter of fact, this works both for Unices and Wins.
I am developing an application using Firebird 1.5 SS local on
Win XP but deployed at end users using FB on Linux...and
it works...
ip_of_server:/path/from/root/to/my.gdb seems the most flexible
connection string to me...but YMMV.
