Still, I think it is a valid question, since the matter of forced writes
doesn't relate to transactions. In fact, the updating of the generator is
a database operation (it updates a page in the database). One could expect
that the engine might make an exception in the case of this page, and not
delta the old recversion or cache the new. I don't know whether it
does. I hope Ann is looking at this thread.
