Hugh,
I did observe performance degradation with the Linux version of IB 6.0 after
long term use but not the Windows version. Which version are you using?
However, this was no more than slow response time over a network and simply
closing down the server process and restarting it solved the problem. There
was no need to restart Linux.
We have now switched entirely to Firebird 1.02 and have not observed any
performance slow downs since then. I would recommend that you test it out
with a view to upgrading the customers which have a problem.
