you can use the UDF library to encrypt and decrypt a password before
storage. I think IBO or rather some IBO contributed functions are also
available.

Subject: [ib-support] How to store encrypted password in a table
Hello,
I have a table which stores user id and password for my application.
Now the password is stored in plain text. Does Firebird has any
built-in facility so that I can store the password encrypted. Or I
have to write my own procedure?
Thanks
