Win ME, XP and 2K (with ServicePack 3) keep track of every gdb and does
a backup for these files automatically.

If this is the case you can:

- switch off system restore
- use another extension than .gdb for your db (ie .fdb or any other
suffix that's not listed
in the filelist.xml-file)
