I strongly recommand using another connectivity-set.
IBX does not support Firebird in the future and even for Interbase i would
suggest using IBObjects (http://www.ibobjects.com), but IBObjects is not the
only one, there are more 3th party components available such as FIBPlus
(http://devrace.com/fibplus/) or Firebird Express (dbExpress driver
http://www.upscene.com/).
