If you are using the SS version of FB (or < IB7) on Windows 2000 and below,
you will need to disable hyperthreading in the Bios. The Classic version is
fine on Windows, and will use 'both' CPU's well. If you are running the SS
version on Linux with a recent kernel, you don't have to disable
hyperthreading, but you do need to set the affinity of the FB process to a
'single' CPU. The Classic version is fine on Linux and will use 'both' CPU's.

Windows XP is supposed to handle HT correctly, but I have no experience of
this

At least as fast, and a lot of times faster IMO. But even is it wasn't
faster, the additional stability is worth the 'move'
