maybe i did formulate that wrong. i wanted to suggest zeebeedee as an
alternative to using a vpn. i think it fits better for what i understand he
intends to do. using vpn and zeebeedee together would not make much sense
since a good vpn also compresses and encrypts the data and adding zeebeedee
won't help.
to access my firebird server over the internet i often use an ssh tunnel and
it works well even over 64k connections.
