Subject Re:Advice for web base application

I personally use
Linux, Apache 1.3x , PHP 4.2 (with adodb db layer not ) and Firebird
1.02 (looking really forward to 1.5)

and I am really happy with it. (all Open Source, stable, fast, plenty
of help around, works on Linux & Windows as a backup in case my
customers cannot get convinced )

small unknown with the upcoming FB 1.5 how will the Interbase driver
for PHP react ? I have not tested yet, but I am confident that there
will be an upgrade path.

NOTE
IMHO :

ASP -> nope: ASP for Apache is not proven yet, Perl scripting only.

ISAPI ->
Nope: I don't want to crash my Apache server if I am naughty
WIN32 only (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_isapi.html)
Apache implementation of ISAPI 2.0 is not 100% compatible with MS
implementation (surprise ?)
can't comment on .NET yet

HTH
Bonne chance,

Didier
