This problem is hard to measure. The current cache management definitely
has some overhead rising with number of pages managed. The problem seems
to be related to mass insert where number of new pages is added to cache
and few buckets get very long page chains and thus are slow to traverse.

That would be great. But to get any significant numbers, you'll need to
transfer a lot o data in very big database.
