Er... Now I'm puzzled. You might well be right after all. I would have
to double check the doc and code to answer. Maybe someone will do
quicker than me.

Anyway, I stand on my point that the speed of FB 1.5 on Win32 is
excellent, even with forced writes on and though I was a bit picky
about that with earlier versions, I really don't even think to turn
these forced-writes off today with FB 1.5.

Maybe this feeling got me wrong in my previous assertion.
