It is fine by me in principle. Unfortunately, the practice is a bit more
complicated. sigh. The rpm installs are currently not relocateable (but
they probably ought to be.) The .tar.gz installs could be a lot more
sophisticated. But, in general, we need to keep all the installs in sync.

I really hope we find time to sort all this out. Finally, after many months,
people on fb-devel are starting to take a serious look at all the issues
underlying Linux installs. It is extremely complicated, though, so don't
expect instant results. Almost everything that we do to fix how things work
on one distro seem to break something on another.

For now, just be thankful if it installs into /opt and it works.
