Hello all. I am currently using IBX to connect to 1.5 and since I plan on
staying with FB, I want to start looking for some tools to use that will be
compatible with FB in the long run.
I know about IBO and FIBPlus, but wifey says 3rd party component fund is
dry :) so I downloaded and have been playing with the Zeos comps.
Just wanted to see if anyone could offer some comments about them as far as
speed (compared to IBX since that is all I have used thus far), stabiity, etc.

If you're coming from the BDE, IBO would be a natural choice. Coming from
IBX, FIBplus may be an easier target since IBX and FIBplus have commen
ancestry.
I've used IBO for five years (moving from BDE), but haven't touched IBX or
FIBplus (or the other connection components out there). I use the native
components, except for when I need TDataset compatibilty (e.g. for (simple)
reports). The TDataset compatible components don't offer all of the
advanced stuff, but I don't think they are much slower than the native
ones, if at all. I don't think you will be disappointed!
