Alex, in answer to earlier questions, The query was tried on two db's
on the server, one with the indices added to rdb$ tables and one
without. They were also run a few times to demonstrate to collegues
the strange behaviour. What we also did was alter the select * to a
select fieldname. The performance on the altered db was _much_
better. however that is not the requirement...... What I am now
doing is to install 1.5 on my workstation and test response here, but
now i need an ibconsole that recognizes fb1.5, any suggestions?
