I did try it now, and get the same results. Firebird should somehow detect
if it is a network drive or not (as obvious for the non-embebbed server) and
translates the name to a unc path. I tried now in my samba server and I've
got the same error.

It seems that this check should be disabled on embebbed applications.

Please post this info on firebird-devel. I think it should be consider a bug
for the embebbed server, since the file is exclusive locked there is no
sense to not allow it to work on share drives.
