The discussions for 2.0 began in earnest during the past week.

Final features for 1.5 were listed, but some people have made requests for 1.5.
One of these was me. I don't know if anything else is still to be done.

This question would get better answers in the firebird-devel forum, as it is not
a support question for a released version.
