Hey Dave,
I was evaluating Firebird for possible use in an upcoming project and
was surprised to find there was no case-insensitive collation or
indexing for Firebird on the Linux platform. I went to the IB_Support
group on Yahoo and jumped into a very lively discussion on the topic.
I learned a lot.
But one of the questions that kept coming up is "Will someone be
producing case-insensitive collation for Linux anytime soon?". Do you
have any plans to do this soon? I saw it was on your Future Projects
list. Or is this project somewhat open-ended?
Posters kept saying that it was technically feasible to get this
feature, but no one seemed to know if anyone was actively working on
it or if there was a tentative release date.
Thanks for any info you can give me.

"Soon" is all I can say - this is a hobby for me, so it fits in when
time is available.

Hey Dave,
"Soon" is excellent!
It's better than "later" and way better than "never".
Thanks for taking the time to do this project.
