If you've read my other posts on this topic, it may sound like I'm
being very critical of FB. I'm don't want to be. I really like the
features of this database and would love to see its use grow. I like
databases that can run on both my Windows laptop (for development)
and my Linux servers (for production). I just started using Borland's
development tools and there are a lot of examples and controls for
using IB/FB.
But some features like case-insensitivity and portability of code are
important to me and currently it is easier to accomplish this with
other databases.
Do you have any idea, when this feature would be available? Is this a
high or low priority type request? Very difficult or easy to
implement? Am I the only one who thinks this is a major shortcoming?
If I wasn't burning my candle at both ends really hard right now, I'd
try and write it myself. Unfortunately in order to get what I want,
I'm going to have to rely on the kindness of strangers for this one.
Thanks,
