<<Some strange situation of the Firebird 1.0.2 installation ...
- isc4.gdb won't be converted.
- 3rd party tools can't access to the new isc4.gdb.
How about these issues ? ( Still opened ? )
Should I wait for the patches ?
( I hope to keep on using 3rd party tools. ex.IBAdmin)>>
The problem relates to the error:
"unrecognized database parameter block"
Being thrown when the security database is accessed by a 3rd party tool
We have grepped the code and there are only three functions that throw
this. get_options() in jrd/jrd.c throws it in three places and
gds_attach_database() and gds_create_database() in jrd/why.c also throw
the error.
Of the three it looks like gds_attach_database() in why.c is the most
likely culprit. Unfortunately, a diff of why.c between builds FB 1.0.0
and Fb 1.0.2 doesn't explain why the problem exists. Nothing relevant
appears to have changed.
There have been changes to the build process - mostly because of the
SINIX port, however nothing obvious at the moment seems to stand out.
We are still looking into the problem.
