You can import data from fixed-length ASCII files via so-called "external
file tables" - have a look in the Language Reference for more.

Firebird Workbench can export data to Excel and CSV or fixed-length text -
see www.upscene.com

If you have ODBC drivers for text, you also might have a look at the
freeware IBPump tool at www.clevercomponents.com
