Thanks for the clarification. I have just been reversing my terminology
even though I've been using the rules correctly. You are right, I've been
confusing the terms used for aggregate functions vs aggregate fields in the
queries. Thinking about it, I see the logic (or reverse logic in my case :).

Martijn, please disregard the last reply to you as I think this clears it up
for me. Talk about laboring under false impressions. <g>
