Yes, but it will only include committed work upto the start
of the backup.

Not had a problem yet, but the ocasional restore to a
different file name can be done just to be happy the files
are OK.

We are using Windows servers, and so do a reset on them
every two weeks, so backup and restore at that time just to
complete the picture. Firebird does not seem to need it, but
since we have to stop the system just for Microsoft then ...
