Subject RE: [ib-support] Unsupported BLR version?
Author Wilson, Fred
I would never copy the database file itself, unless the FB service is
stopped first. Not stopping the service is begging for a corrupt database.
What I would do is backup the database, copy the backup file(s) to the other
box and then restore the backup

Subject: [ib-support] Unsupported BLR version?

I took a databse file that was created with a server running FB 1.0. I
copied the file over to another server running FB 0.9.4.

I am able to connect to the database, but when I try to do a select, I
get the following error:

ISC ERROR CODE:335544343

ISC ERROR MESSAGE:
invalid request BLR at offset 0
corrupt system table
unsupported BLR version (expected 4, encountered 5)

STATEMENT:
TIB_Cursor: "<TApplication>.frmSQL.crEdit."

Is this because of an incompatability between FB 0.9.4 and 1.0, or is
the database really corrupt?

Thanks,
Joe
