You are using the newsgroup mirror aren't you?
Trying to cancel a message in a mailing list (even if mirrored through a
newsserver) is futile, since the message has already reached all the
subscribers. The net effect is that the original message is not deleted
and the cancel message is queued too.
Two useless messages instead of one. Interesting suggestion yours. :-)
