You need to backup the data on the original version of
Interbase that the file was created on, and restore in the
new version.

Alternatively if you can run both versions at the same time
( different machines ) then you can pump the data from the
old database to a new blank ( and fix any name problems on
the way ). IB_SQL will allow you to do this - copy metadata
from old to new and then pump data.
