"/etc/rc.d/init.d/firebird" does not exists! Just
"/etc/xinetd.d/firebird" exists? Please advice! Thanks!

Does the file /etc/rc.d/init.d/firebird exist?

I'm always told that it's fine, as long as it's not in use, but I always
use gbak anyway.
