If you have InterBase or Firebird installed on both boxes, run gbak on the
box with a command line that causes it to open and backup the database on the
Solaris box, putting the backup file on the linux box. Restore the database
on the Linux system.

The short answer is that alignment and other oddities (endianism) are the
same on linux and windows, so if a copy doesn't work from whatever Solaris
you're using to Windows, it won't work to Linux.
