Absolutly. Server sometimes can silently ignore explicit plan for
outer join only, in all other cases he is obedient or honestly says
"index cannot be used in specified plan" :) Anyway, to be shure you
can make such an experiment on your own database and check it using
SET PLAN in ISQL or according option in tool you use.
