First of all what platform does the database run on? Windows, Sun, HP, VMS?
Second whats the problem?
Third - No, the ODS (on disk structures) are somewhat incompatible. Firebird
1.0 and InterBase 6.0 are expecting an ODS that is in no way compatible with
4.0C and there is no bridge that will allow you to go that far back. You are
going to need a copy of InterBase 4.0 before you can really progess any
further
